MAIDUGURI (AFP) –
At least 30 people were killed on Wednesday in a fresh gunbattle in the northern Nigerian state of Yobe where security forces are hunting down members of an Islamist sect, a police source said.
"Thirty have so far been killed in Hawan Malka," a police source told AFP referring to an area on the outskirts of Potiskum, Yobe's second largest city.
